Paperback Update

Not yet out but making progress! We've run into an issue with the digital cover file exceeding the maximum file size for the printing company, so we're working on that. But I wanted to share!

Note that this cover image is made for a pint color space, while your computer is in RGB color space, so the image will look muddier than it will be in "real life." So excited!

(Note to the Festivus and Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM) people -- I really think you guys would be better off with a deeper mythos than a single Seinfeld episode and a letter to the Board of Education. Plus, presents seriously grease the wheels. :) Decorations are also nice (beyond the Festivus pole), although you can probably get away with not doing the Festivus and FSM songs. I'm just sayin'...)

What type of research did you do for Angelfall? 

SE- I dove into the Book of Enoch, which was one of the discoveries of the Dead Sea scrolls. It talks about the Watchers and their nephilim. Fascinating stuff. I also did some research into fighting techniques through women's self defense classes, jujitsu books, and consulted with a black belt martial artist. Then, I spent an evening with a weapons collector to figure out what kind of angel sword a petite girl could carry, as well as what types of guns the Resistance would carry. We decided a gladius would be the best sword for Penryn. I got to swing one around and felt the heft and balance of a gladius. It was fun.

Video Interview & Angelfall Giveaway

Aw, geez. I hate being in front of the camera. And embarrassingly, the lighting on my video is bad. All my filmmaking gear was stored 3 hours away so I got lazy and just used my Mac and natural light without a reflector.

I said a lot of "um"s and in spots, talked as stilted as Captain Kirk (which I don't usually do--I think). But that's all part of the charm of indie art, right? Real people, doing real art without the corporate gloss.
